HOW TO GET TO RAJA AMPAT
FROM JAKARTA AND ANY OTHER CITIES
- Take a Ferry
Fly to Sorong Airport and upon arrival, take a taxi or an ‘ojek’ (motorbike taxi) to Pelabuhan Rakyat Sorong (harbor). Buy a ferry ticket to Waisai (Raja Ampat) at the harbor (you cannot buy it online). The ferry takes around two hours to get to Waisai.
The flight to Sorong will transit in Makassar, and from Makassar, the plane usually takes off at 3 or 4 o’clock in the morning. You can stay at a hotel near the airport so you will not miss your plane.
Although rare, there are direct flights from Jakarta to Sorong.
- Without a Ferry
Fly to Manado, and from Manado take a direct flight to Raja Ampat. (this flight is no longer available)
Take a direct flight to Raja Ampat from Makasar Airport.
FROM SINGAPORE
- Silkair (Singapore Airlines group) operates routine flights from Singapore to Manado. From Manado, take a flight to Raja Ampat.
